Watch History Move in Raleigh

Downtown Live Concert and Movie Schedule

The City unveiled its 2008 summer concert and movie schedule to be held each Saturday from May 24 through Sept. 6 in Moore Square. The concerts will begin at 2 p.m. and end at 11 p.m. The movies will begin at 8 p.m. and end at 11 p.m.

Special Event Parking in City of Raleigh parking decks is $7.

Cocktail hour with your pooch!! Thursday, May 29th - 6:30 to 8:30pm at Buckhead Saloon. Dogs are welcome up until 8:30 p.m. on the outside patio area. SPCA supporters will enjoy a complimentary light appetizer buffet and discounted drink specials.

Cover charge is $5 per person, 100% of which goes to support the homeless pets of the SPCA of Wake County. Each dog must be accompanied by his or her person. This event is also limited to people 21 years and older.

Salute Our Troops, Downtown Raleigh Parade

The largest military parade in state history will take place in downtown Raleigh at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26. The parade will feature entry’s from every military branch including a flyover by F-15E Strike Eagles to kick things off. Paradegoers can make their own dogtags and sample barbecue from the N.C. Pork Council. There will be current military hardware on display as well as NASCAR Sprint Cup team’s show cars. The parade route is a 1.5-mile route along Fayetteville and Salisbury streets.

Good shows @ The Berkeley Cafe

There are a couple good shows coming to the Berkeley Cafe this weekend Including, The Nighthawks, Romantica, The Bittersweets, and Bill Kirchen & Too Much Fun. I’ve been told that Bill Kirchen, is one of the best guitar players out there and that he is “one of the most respected pickers in the industry,” by one local musician.
