Carolina Brewing Company is about to celebrate their 13th anniversary (marking the sale date of their first keg to 42nd Street).  They’ve named it #13 and it is a Weizen Bock. In an email to CBC fans today, they describe #13 as:

It combines the banana and clove characteristics of a German Hefe Weizen with the rich malt taste and higher alcohol of a Bock. It is deep amber in color, is 6.2% alcohol by volume and is unfiltered.

So get ready for the anniversary celebration on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 42nd Street Oyster Bar in Raleigh. CBC gang will be there from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Oh, and #13 will be on tap.

Anheuser-Busch, an American original. Founded in St. Louis, Missouri, is under attack. A foreign company, InBev a Belgian beer maker thats brands includ Beck’s and Stella Artois is trying to buy the American Icon.

The N&O reports that InBev delivered an unsolicited all-cash $46 billion bid to buy Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. and absorb the iconic brewery to create the world’s fourth largest consumer products company.

Cocktail hour with your pooch!! Thursday, May 29th - 6:30 to 8:30pm at Buckhead Saloon. Dogs are welcome up until 8:30 p.m. on the outside patio area. SPCA supporters will enjoy a complimentary light appetizer buffet and discounted drink specials.

A couple of my friends have been to concerts at North Hills, they say its a good crowd and a lot like Alive After Five, However if you want to go, get there early because it gets packed.

There are a couple good shows coming to the Berkeley Cafe this weekend Including, The Nighthawks, Romantica, The Bittersweets, and Bill Kirchen & Too Much Fun.
